ELM SALAD BOWL, #487, 14.5X5.5

When I lived in Colorado Springs, CO, I turned a lot of American Elm.  The city had managed to protect their beautiful elms by controlling the beatles that spread the "Dutch" elm disease.  Not sure if this is American Elm or one of the hybrids that have been bred as a replacement.  It could also be Chinese Elm which has a similar wood.  I think the beautiful brown color combined with the dark burly bits makes this a bowl you would be proud to have on your table.  Hold a dinner salad for six.
