ELM SALAD BOWL #530, 13X4

Based on the  spacing between growth rings, this elm tree (probably slippery elm) grew very slowly.  The slow growth combined with the normal heavy density of elm, makes this a heavy bowl for its size.    The contrast between the brown heartwood and the lighter sapwood is impressive as is the unusual heartwood pattern.  Hold a salad for six. $145
